What is wedding photojournalism? Is it your style?
A style of wedding photography where the photographer's goal is to tell the story of a wedding day by capturing real moments. There are some portraits taken, but generally the photographer won't set up or pose shots. And yes, when shooting I am very much a photojournalist. When it comes to retouching, I am more artistic.
Do you charge by the hour or day?
Coverage for weddings is offered for a flat rate, up to 10 hours. Other events are billed by the hours.
Are any family portraits taken?
Yes. A brief session before or after the ceremony. If time allows, sometimes we do a brief couples session during the reception.
How many images will I get?
Depending on the length of the event, if there is travel during the wedding and the number of people, usually anywhere between 500-900 images..
May I make reprints from my disc?
Yes. A copyright release is included should you need it.
Why should I order prints from you?
All prints and album images are given an additional look and retouched to look their best. Prints are of high quality and your satisfaction is guaranteed.
Do you offer prints for sale online?
After the wedding, the images will be viewable online in a password protected gallery. Friends and family may purchase images as well. A price list is available, please inquire.
Do you retouch images?
All highlight images, prints and album images are retouched or enhanced as deemed necessary or per request. If advanced retouching, like major skin retouching, moving people or objects around etc., is required, an additional fee may be charged.
How quickly will I get my images? Album?
Images are online within 30 days, album within 3-4 months of layout approval.
Are you insured?
Yes, with Fireman's Fund. Certificates available on request.
Do you use film?
Nope. Been 100% digital for years. I shoot with Canon 5D Mark IIs, in case you are wondering.
Do you shoot in black & white?
Every image I capture is in color. I convert images I think will look nice, or perhaps better, to black & white after the initial edit. I do these on an individual basis and custom tone each one.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
I love ceremonies that are personal and will often find myself tearing-up (just a little!). But, I love to photograph people dancing and having a great time.
