Information

Congrats! And of course you'll want to document the occasion. That's where I come in. I love capturing the real unposed moments of a wedding day, ideally from beginning to end. As a wedding photojournalist, I seek to unobtrusively photograph the day and all the unique moments that tell its story. I always do a brief family portrait session, but generally I won't stop the fun or pull you away for pictures. I believe the best images come when you've forgotten I'm even there.

F.A.Q.

What is wedding photojournalism?

A style of wedding photography where the photographer's goal is to tell the story of a wedding day by capturing real moments. There are some portraits taken, but generally the photographer won't set up or pose shots.

Are any family portraits taken?

Yes. A brief session before or after the ceremony. If time allows, sometimes we do a brief couples session during the reception.

How many images will I get?

Depending on the length of the event, anywhere between 400-900 images.

May I make reprints from my disc?

Yes. A copyright release is included should you need it.

Do you offer prints for sale online?

After the wedding, the images will be viewable online in a password protected gallery. Friends and family may purchase images as well. A price list is available, please inquire.

What is the difference between proofs, premium and fine art prints?

Proofs are the hi-res jpgs images you will receive on disc. They have been adjusted for color and exposure and are ready to be printed. Premium and fine art prints take the proofs to the next level and are available for purchase online. They are given further refinements like:

-Basic skin retouching and smoothing

-Stray hair removal

-Teeth whitening

-Removal of any unwanted elements

-Choice or black & white, sepia or color

The difference between premium and fine art is the process and paper on which they are printed. Premium prints are printed on high quality photographic paper. Fine art prints are printed with an archival pigment printer (inkjet or Giclee) on cotton rag paper.

Do you retouch images?

All highlight images, prints and album images are retouched or enhanced as deemed necessary or per request. If advanced retouching, like major skin retouching, moving people or objects around etc., is required, an additional fee may be charged.

What are "highlights"?

I select a number of images from each wedding to artistically enhance. The number depends on the length of the weddings, but usually between 10-30. They are retouched, distracting elements removed if necessary and possibly converted in to black and white. Images you select to print or include in an album will be enhanced beyond the proof stage as well.

Do you work with an assistant?

Always! My gear is heavy and four hands & eyes are better than two. Also, in order to minimize distractions during the ceremony, my assistant will shoot from different angles.

How quickly will I get my images? Album?

Images are online within 30 days, album within 3 months of layout approval.

Do you use film?

Nope. Been 100% digital for years. I shoot with Canon 5D Mark IIs, in case you are wondering.

Do you shoot in black & white?

Every image I capture is in color. I convert images I think will look nice, or perhaps better, to black & white after the initial edit.

What is your favorite part of a wedding?

I love ceremonies that are personal and will often find myself tearing-up (just a little!). But, I love to photograph people dancing and having a great time.

So, you're getting married!
