About
Kristy May loves working closely with clients to capture the real moments of their wedding day. Her experience as a photojournalist and masters degree in digital photography give her a distinct style as a wedding photographer. After years of flirting with the idea, Kristy decided to focus on wedding photography in 2009. (and she's very glad she did!)
A little background: After graduating with a bachelor degree in studio art from Loyola University in New Orleans in 2002, Kristy began her career as a freelancer for The Times-Picayune in New Orleans and later as a staff photographer for The Courier in Houma, Louisiana. In 2004 she received a Fulbright grant and spent a year in Berlin, Germany where she interned for the Associated Press. After Germany, Kristy became the digital assistant to Ira Block, a National Geographic photographer based in New York. In 2008, she received a master of professional studies in digital photography from The School of Visual Arts in New York. In additional to freelancing for editorial publications, Kristy shares her knowledge of digital photography and printing with consulting clients.
Kristy is based in New York City, is often in New Orleans, and is available for travel to other destinations.
